SUGAR LAND--June 4, 2009--Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas)--Neste Oil Corporation (HEL:NES1V) (Espoo, Finland) has started construction of the largest biodiesel plant in Europe at the Port of Rotterdam in The Netherlands. The company announced last week that the first foundation stone was laid to mark the construction of the estimated billion-plus dollars plant. When completed in late 2010, the plant will have the capacity of producing 800,000 metric tons of biodiesel from palm oil, rapeseed oil and animal fat waste streams.
Is biodiesel going to be one of those things they "get" in Europe better than we do here in the USA? I don't think so, and we will continue to report on large biodiesel plants.
